Map Snood Questions
Snoods are versatile seamless tubes of stretchy fabric that can be worn either around the user’s neck, or as a head or face covering, hat or mask. Stylish and easy to wear, they keep the wearer warm and protect against sun, wind and dust. This makes them popular for all sorts of outdoor sports.
Our high-quality snoods are made from a tightly woven technical microfibre. The 200gsm Lycra material is composed of 92% Polyester with 8% Elastane for natural stretch. The silky-smooth fabric is tough, lightweight, breathable, washable, moisture wicking, quick drying, hypoallergenic and rated at SPF/UPF 50+.
The tubular snoods are a generous 50cm x 25cm and one size fits almost everyone. They are ideal for both men and women with a head circumference between 48-60cm.
Snoods are printed on one side only. The tight weave of the fabric means the map image is detailed and sharp. The inside is plain white and unprinted with slight show-through from the outside.
No. Snoods are best unhemmed for several reasons:
- A hem would limit the stretchability of the snood
- Stitch holes from a hem would weaken the fabric
- The fabric is cut and sealed by laser to prevent fraying
- The ends of the tube naturally curl over, leaving an attractive edge
Snoods should only be hand- or gently machine-washed in cold or lukewarm water (at around 30C) with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener, bleach or other harsh chemicals. Snoods dry quickly, either laid flat or on a line. Snoods are NOT suitable for tumble drying or ironing.
Snoods are durable, reusable, washable and colourfast and should last a long time.
